Nepal’s only international airport is Tribhuvan International Airport. Under the Department of Immigration Office, TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport), has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by issuing Visa on Arrival. Similarly, other Entry and Exit points at the border regions also issue On Arrival Visas to foreign nationals wishing to enter Nepal by land.
VISA INFORMATION
A visa for Nepal can be obtained upon arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, as well as at border entry points in Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki on the Nepal-India border and Kodari on the Nepal-China border. A visa can also be obtained outside of Nepal at the nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission. You can renew your visa at the Department of Immigration, Kalikasthan, Kathmandu.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
1. A valid passport (The passport should have validity of at least six months)
2. Fill out the visa application form available at the airport or immigration entry points.
3. Two passport size photos
4. Visa fees must be paid in cash

15 Days – USD 30
30 Days – USD 50
90 Days – USD 125
Gratis (Free) Visa
For a first visit in one visa year (January to December), a Gratis visa for 30 days is available only for nationals of South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, visas can be extended from the Immigration Department on payment of visa fee as specified above.
Nepal Visa for Indian Nationals
Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal. As per the Nepalese Immigration, Indian Nationals traveling to Nepal by air must possess any one of the following documents.
· Passport
· Election Commission Card
Visa Extension
If you want to extend visa for 15 days or less, visa extension charge is USD 30
If you want to extend the visa for more than 15 days, USD 2 will be charged per day after 15 days. Tourists can stay for a maximum of 150 days in a visa year (Jan 1 to Dec 31)
Transit Visa
When a foreigner has to get down at Nepalese airport as a result of his/her transit point or due to any force landing for whatever the reason, the foreigner can obtain a transit visa for a day after paying USD 5 or any other currency equivalent.
Other Visa Information
Nationals from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan will need to obtain a visa from Nepal Embassies or Diplomatic Missions in their respective countries, as they do not get visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal.
