Nun Peak is located in Leh Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh shares a border with Tibet in the east and is heavily influenced by Tibetan culture. The Nun Kun mountain massif in Leh Ladakh consists of two peaks (twin Himalayan peaks): Nun peak, 7135 m / 23,409 ft), and Kun peak 7077 m / 23,218 feet. Nun Peak, located in the remote landscape of the Zanskar ranges in northern India, is the highest mountain in the region. Climbing Nun peak is an excellent opportunity to get high altitude climbing experience on a classic Himalayan expedition. Easy accessibility and short approach to its base camp make Nun Peak one of the most appealing climbing expeditions in the Western Himalayas. The climbing period and season for Nun Peak is June through August. While the rest of the Himalayan regions face monsoon during this time, the Nun peak comes as an excellent choice for climbers to take on their adventures to the next level.
After arriving in Delhi, you will meet your team and proceed to IMF – Indian Mountaineering Foundation for clearance and briefing with Liason Officer. The next day will be your flight to Leh, the former capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh and one of the very few remaining Buddhist strongholds in South Asia. At Leh, you get to visit 'off the beaten track' ancient sites, villages, colorful markets, and the abandoned royal palace. Explore the Buddhist monasteries steeped in history & experience the dominant landscape of the Indus River Valley and the encompassing Himalayan Giants.
Nun Peak Expedition Itinerary
Day 01 - Arrival in Delhi. Check-in at Hotel. After lunch proceed to IMF – Indian Mountaineering Foundation for clearance and briefing with Liason Officer
Day 02 - Early morning flight from Delhi to Leh. Check-in at hotel in Leh. Rest and Acclimatisation.
Day 03 - Explore around Leh (3500m/11,500ft)
Day 04 - Drive from Leh to Kargil (2675m/8780ft)
Day 05 - Drive from Kargil to Tangol (3700m/12,140ft)
Day 06 - Sort out equipment and Trek from Tangol to Nun Base Camp (4600m/15,100ft)
Day 07 - Rest and Acclimatization at Nun Base Camp (4600m/15,100ft)
Day 08 to Day 17 - Nun peak Climbing and Summit Period. Establish 3 Camps (C1, C2, & C3) between Base to Summit
Camp 1 at 5500m / 18,000ft
Camp 2 at 6100m / 20,000ft
Camp 3 at 6400m / 21,000ft
Day 18 - Trek from Base Camp to Tangol (3700m/12,140ft)
Day 19 - Drive from Tangol to Leh (3500m/11,500ft)
Day 20 - Free and Rest day at Leh
Day 21 - Fly from Leh to Delhi and Debriefing at IMF
Day 22 - Depart from Delhi and Fly back home. Trip concludes!

Eligibility: Is this Expedition suitable for me?
Nun Peak expedition is graded as a challenging climb. This expedition helps climbers to test their skills and improve their endurance. Such high-altitude climbs should not be underestimated, and the members should approach the expedition with proper training. We highly suggest that you start working on your fitness two months before the expedition. Previous high-altitude climbing experience is mandatory to sign up for the Nun Peak Expedition. Excellent physical endurance, focus, and determination are required to complete the Nun Peak Expedition successfully. Happy Climbing!
Offloading
Protrek Adventure highly recommends the participants to carry their personal backpacks by themselves. However, in case you are absolutely not able to carry the same and would like to offload, then you have to inform us during the booking process and pre-book the offloading. Each bag should not weigh more than 10 kgs. The bag should be of rucksack style only. Duffle bags would not be accepted for offloading. Kindly inform our booking office if you will need to offload your personal backpack for the Nun peak expedition.
Trek Booking and Payment
Advance Booking Amount 20%
We suggest that you book your slot for Nun Peak expedition at least one month in advance and confirm your slot. However, you can make the booking earlier than that if you require a good deal on your to and fro flight tickets and organizing your trip efficiently. A booking confirmation will be sent by e-mail along with the payment instructions and other trip details. All payments have to be made through an online transfer/ cheque deposit/ demand draft. After the payment for the booking is done, please mail us your transfer details at info@protrekadventure.com so that we can follow up efficiently.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel your Nun peak expedition booking, please e-mail us on info@protrekadventure.com
Cancellations are processed only by e-mail and refunds for the same are as follows:
Cancellations before 30 days from the start date of the trek
— 90% refund
Cancellation between 30 days & 20 days to the start date of the trek
— 50% refund
Cancellation less than 20 days to the start date of the trek
— no cash refund

Leh is covered with three parallel Himalayan ranges, the Zanskar, the Ladakh & the Karakoram. Also, the three rivers, the Shyok, the Indus and the Zanskar flow between these ranges. Extensively jagged with bright and colorful fluttering flags, dramatic mountains and incredible landscapes, Leh is a treat to one’s eyes. Leh is known for its beautiful monasteries, and some of the places to visit are Shey Palace Leh, Leh Palace, Hemis Monastery Leh, Sindhu ghat Leh and Stok Palace Museum Leh.
By Air
Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is the nearest and main airport to the city which is about 5 km far from the main town. You can get many flights from Leh airport which take you to various other destinations easily. You would enjoy the trip as you would fly over many untouched areas with awe-inspiring views of mountain ranges. The aerial view is just fascinating and gives an excellent start to your tour.
