Frey peak is a challenging and technical climb. It is an excellent choice for climbers looking at taking their mountaineering skills to the next level. Frey Peak lies near the Rathong Glacier and in the vicinity of Mount Kabru, Rathong and Kokthang in West Sikkim. Climb to Frey peak involves passing through the enthralling Frey Glacier. One can get the best views of Frey peak from the base camp, which is also called Chowrikhang. Awe-inspiring views of the surrounding mountain ranges are a significant boost to the climbers before making the push to the advance base camp. The trail leading to Frey peak is mostly rocky, which makes it unique and exciting compared to the other climbs in this region. Crossing the glacier is yet another challenging part of the climb, and one should have the necessary skills in technical climbing. The summit has been named after the renowned mountaineer George Frey, who climbed the peak with Tenzing Norgay but also died on his way back. His ice axe and crampons are still present to this date at the base of Frey peak as a memorial. The trail offers a striking landscape and allows the climbers to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. Frey peak climb lets you test your endurance and also explore the beauty of Yuksom, Bakhim, Tshoka, Dzongri, and Chowrikhang.

Registering for Frey Peak expedition

Eligibility: Is this Expedition suitable for me?

Frey Peak Expedition is graded as a challenging trek. This trek helps climbers to test their skills and improve their endurance. Such high-altitude treks should not be underestimated, and climbers should approach the trek with proper training. We highly suggest that you start working on your fitness two months before the climb. Previous trekking experience is mandatory to sign up for the Frey Peak Expedition. Excellent physical endurance, focus, and determination are required to complete the Ama Frey Peak Expedition successfully. Happy Climbing!

Offloading

Protrek Adventure highly recommends the participants to carry their personal backpacks by themselves. However, in case you are absolutely not able to carry the same and would like to offload, then you have to inform us during the booking process and pre-book the offloading. Each bag should not weigh more than 10 kgs. The bag should be of rucksack style only. Duffle bags would not be accepted for offloading. Kindly inform our booking office if you will need to offload your personal backpack for the Frey Peak expedition.

 

Expedition Booking and Payment

Advance Booking Amount 40% INR

We suggest that you book your slot for the Frey peak expedition at least one month in advance and confirm your slot. However, you can make the booking earlier than that if you require a good deal on your to and fro flight tickets and organizing your trip efficiently. A booking confirmation will be sent by e-mail along with the payment instructions and other trip details. All payments have to be made through an online transfer/ cheque deposit/ demand draft. After the payment for the booking is done, please mail us your transfer details at info@protrekadventure.com so that we can follow up efficiently.

 

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your Frey peak booking, please e-mail us on info@protrekadventure.com

Cancellations are processed only by e-mail and refunds for the same are as follows:

 

Cancellations before 30 days from the start date of the trek

— 90% refund

Cancellation between 30 days & 20 days to the start date of the trek

— 50% refund

Cancellation less than 20 days to the start date of the trek

— no cash refund

Frey Peak – West Sikkim

West Sikkim is a district of the Indian state of Sikkim. Its capital is Geyzing, also known as Gyalshing. The district is a favorite with trekkers due to the high elevations. Other important towns include Pelling and Yuksom. Local people also call as Pallo- Sikkim, and Sano- Sikkim as commonly.
