We strongly recommend you to buy travel insurance that covers medical and emergency evacuation costs. There is no doubt that Himalayan adventures are fun and exciting, but it has its share of risks as well. Travelers must be prepared for any such unforeseen circumstances when in the outdoors. This is where your insurance will be of great help to you. There are a wide range of insurance companies to choose from depending on where you live.

The chance of such unforeseen circumstances are very rare, nevertheless one should be prepared for it. When you choose a policy make sure that it covers most of the cases, like for instance Medical insurance, Accident cover, Emergency evacuation, high altitude rescue, and other medical emergency expenses. Standard policies typically only cover medical evacuation to 4000 meters, so make sure you get a policy that covers trekking up to 6000 meters.
